Jomsom Muktinath Trek

Jomsom Muktinath trek is a part of Annapurna trek. It is located at the lower part of Mustang called Lower Mustang at an altitude of 3,749m. It is a very popular trek compared to other treks because it is a simple trek and can be done all through the year as it lies behind the mountains and falls under rain shadow area. You get to  enjoy spectacular views of Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) ranges in this trek. This route actually crosses the Himalayan range to provide you with some magnificent views of the northern flanks. You get to explore the Buddhist and Hindu culture as well as deepest gorges in the world. On the other hand, Muktinath is one of Nepal’s most famous pilgrimage sites with 108 stone taps and marvelous temples.

As with many other western trekking routes, this one also starts from and ends in Pokhara valley. Jomsom Muktinath 11 days trek is actually a short trekking package made for those who have limited visit time in Nepal. It is a cultural trip package which offers some religious places like Muktinath Temple and Buddhist monasteries. If you are an adventure seeker, there is another trip package  15 days’ Upper Mustang Trek that take you the Upper Mustang. It is a more difficult trek meant primarily for adventure seekers.

Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Phedi (1130 m.) and trek from Phedi to Pothana

Trek from Pothana to Ghandruk (1940m.)

Trek from Ghandruk to Tadapani (2650m.)
4 hours.

Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani (2853m.)
5 hours.

Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1189m.)
7 & 1/2 hours.

Drive from Tatopani to Ghasa (2010m)
5 hours.

Trek from Ghasa to Marpha (2670m)
6 hours.

Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni (2897m.) via Jomsom (2713m.)
5 hours.

Trek Kagbeni to Muktinath (3795 m.)
4 hours.
Enjoying the view and worship the pooja in Muktinath temple, and then drive back to Jomsom by bus.
2 hours.

Fly from early morning 6:30 AM Jomsom to Pokhara which takes about 20 minutes and same day fly Pokhara to Kathmandu it takes about 25 minutes .
