Sunkoshi is one of the major stream source of the biggest Sapta Koshi River of Nepal. Sunkoshi has been originated from Tibet, China. Then it flows through North to South to form the great Saptakoshi at Trivenighat. In Nepal language, Sun refers to gold and Koshi is supposed to a goddess in Hinduism. There are 7 Kosi rivers in Nepal. Among them, Sunkoshi is one of the major river. By merging 7 rivers, there forms a biggest river ie Saptakoshi. Kayaking and Rafting can be operated in the Sunkoshi River. Sometimes in Rainy Season, biggest flooding in Sunkoshi River causes damaging and destroying of many lives and property of people who live edges of Sunkoshi River. However, autumn and summer seasons are suitable for rafting in Sunkoshi River.

Dolalghat is the starting point of Sunkoshi river rafting trip. So we set up our journey toward Dolalghat from Kathmandu; it takes almost 3 hours drive from Kathmandu Valley. We offer private vehicle make our trip to Dolalghat.

Chatara is the ending or returning point of this trip. Dolalghat to Chatara is almost 235 KM far from each other. That is why, this rafting action can take up to 9 days to complete. From Chatara, we return back to Kathmandu about after 16 hours drive. If you get feel tired with such a long drive, there is another option to you i.e you can take flight from Biratnagar. However, you first take 1 hour drive from Chatara to Biratnagar.
