Trip Introduction

Cho Oyu is the 6th highest mountain peak which is located 8,201 m above the sea level. In Nepali language, Cho Oyu refers a Turquoise of Goddess. It is thought to be easiest mountain of 8000 M to climb.. It lies in the border of Nepal and Tibet. Alongside of Cho Oyu, there is the world’s highest Mt. Everest which is only almost 20 kilometers far from Cho Oyu. Cho Oyu expedition is mostly suitable for Autumn and Spring season.

The Mt. Cho Oyu was first climbed by Austrian adventurers expedition. In that expedition team, there were Herbert Tichy, Joseph Jöchler and Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama. Before this, Edmund Hillary’s team had attempted it in 1952, but they returned without reaching on the summit because of some technical problems.

Because expedition is long day trip and it is not only a trip but also an exploration project, we have to manage everything possible necessities. First Environmental Trekking has been operating expedition program since the company’s establishment. So we provide the better safety and enjoyment things and activities while we operate expedition program.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1350m.) transfer hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu
Day 03: Kathmandu
Day 04: Drive to Kodari & transfer Zhangmu 2300m
Day 05: Drive Nylam 2750m.
Day 06: Nylam rest for acclimatization
Day 07: Drive Tingri 4340m.
Day 08: Rest of day for acclimatized
Day 09: Drive to Chinese Base Camp 5000m. Camping
Day 10: Chinese Base Camp
Day 11: Prepared load to Yak for Advance Base Camp.
Day 12: Base Camp – Middle camp with Yaks
Day 13: Middle Camp – Cho Oyu Advance Base Camp 5700m.
Day 14-39: Climbing Period for Cho Oyu 8201m.
Day 40: Advance Base camp – Chinese Base camp
Day 41: drive Base Camp – Zhangmu
Day 42: Drive Zhangmu – Kathmandu
Day 43: Kathmandu
Day 44: Kathmandu
Day 45: Final Departure


Price Includes

  • Expert professional Nepalese expedition crews like Cook, Kitchen boy, ABC guide and mountaineering gears till to the ABC are provided; and our crews get all expedition facilities from our office itself.
  • Tibet visa & Travel Permit for the expedition crew
