The Goddess of Pathibhara is believed to fulfill the long cherished dreams of her devotees. Pathibhara Devi Shrine at 3,794 m is a popular pilgrimage destination. The animist deity at Pathbhara is worshipped with equal reverence by both Hindus and Buddhist. Hindus crowd the temple during special celebrations, while Buddhists living in the vicinity light lamps at the temple on full-moon light.
Pathibhara is in Tapethok VDC, 19 km from Phungling, the district headquarters of Kanchenjunga. You can enjoy beautiful views of Kanchenjunga and Kumbhakarna. The forest along the trail offers diversity of wildlife, birds, flowers and butterflies.
Trip Facts
Day 01 : Drive from Kathmandu to Suketar which takes about one hour. Trek from Suketar to Deurali and it takes approximately two hours. While trekking you can observe the surroundings and local lifestyle along the trail.
Day 02 : Trek from Deurali to Phedi which takes almost five hours. You can watch different birds along the trail. On the way you are quite fascinated by mountain views and sceneries.
Day 03 : Trek from Phedi to Pathibhara and it takes about three hours. On the same day you trek back to Phedi which takes almost two and half hours. You visit Pathibhara devi. On the way you can encounter various species of birds. From Pathibhara you can enjoy mountain views and sceneries.
Day 04 : Trek from Phedi to Suketar which takes about five hours. On the way you observe surroundings and local lifestyle. You visit local monastery. Moreover you can taste local drinks and food.
Day 05 : Fly from Suketar to Kathmandu and it takes one hour.
